Dao Ethical Gifts
Investing in skill training, empowering women
Dao (the Thai word for ‘star’) is the Social Initiative of Baan Dek Foundation. Our Dao Team trains marginalized women in production skills and work readiness that makes it possible for them to reintegrate into society. These women produce ethical, hand-crafted products that are sold as corporate gifts, and 100% of profits benefit the work of Baan Dek Foundation, which supports children and families in need in Thailand.
Our direct beneficiaries are Thai women and mothers who are exposed to various forms of abuse and in critical need of financial support. These women are living in vulnerable environments where instances of domestic violence are common, leading to isolation and psychological trauma. These women will receive training in handicraft production and work readiness skills, enabling them to achieve financial independence and a higher level of dignity and self-confidence.
Profits generated through these women’s products will contribute to Baan Dek Foundation’s programs that support more than 1,000 vulnerable children every year. As these products are sold as corporate gifts to CSR Partners, they will raise awareness of causes and companies’ social responsibility values.
