Individual Support Program
One-on-one assistance to families facing critical challenges
The Individual Support Program (ISP) is central to all of BDF’s work. Through our programs and outreach sessions, we identify children and families who require additional, in-depth assistance. Every day, BDF team members identify cases of child neglect, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child labor, abandonment, marginalization, and meet children at risk of juvenile delinquency. Such situations require urgent Child Protection, for which individual support is provided through tailored case management.
For Child Protection as well as more general cases, we provide counseling sessions to determine the family’s needs and create a system of tailored support. We work together with local social services and parents to meet children’s needs for education, health, safety, and future opportunities, and our support always aims at helping families to ultimately become self-sustained. When necessary, we refer families to other appropriate services or, in cases of immediate assistance, alert the national Child Protection system.
